Not so productive weekend

So, I think I jinxed myself with the super productive weekend. This weekend was... not so much.
My original goal this weekend was to have the blanket completely finished. I did get quite a bit done, but I didn't finish it up yet. The culprit this weekend was video games!

I have been trying for years to get my husband to even try playing Everquest 2, but he never wanted to. A friend of his started playing this week, so he finally agreed to start a free account and check it out. So, I played with him for a good chunk of our long weekend, so that ate up my crochet time.

Here is where I was last week:

You can see where I have crocheted most of the strips that are left. I just need to weave them in and sew in the fringes on the edges for those strips.

Productive weekend!

The husband and I enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend of doing absolutely nothing! It was so great. Plus, we both have a nice 4 day weekend coming up, so I am planning on quite a few more days of nothing. I can't wait!

I was able to get a lot done over the weekend. Not all the work appears in the photos, I was able to sew in some of the fringes on the edge, too. Looking at the stripes and the color order now, I noticed that the stripes are in order light to dark colors. It was totally unintended, it just happened to work out that way.

Here is where I was last post:

Here I am now:

The colors don't come through on the photos very well. When I finish it, I'll make sure that I take some good pictures before sending it off to the recipient.

I want to cross stitch!

I have started following several more cross stitching blogs and I love watching everyone's progress. This is just making me want to cross stitch so bad! I am being good, though, and focusing only on this baby blanket until I get it completely done!

I know me. If I set this aside in order to work on something else, who knows when I'll pick it up to work on again? The baby is due next month, and at this pace, I hope it will be done! I expected this thing to be done by now, but instead I am only about half-way through weaving the colors in. Then, once I finally get that done, I'll have to fix the fringy edges. Gahhhh!!!

Here is where I am so far. I had to help my husband study for a final this week, so I didn't get to work on it for a little bit. It's coming along, though.

I stayed home from work today and was able to get a bunch done on my baby blanket.
Here is where I was as of my last update:

It's coming along slowly. I can't wait to finish it and give it to my friends!

Baby Blanket

I don't know what it is, but I don't think of posting my progress on projects here. I'm motivated to complete the project and post the finished item here, but that just leaves large gaps in my postings, which also bothers me.
I like keeping track of others' progress, so I'm going to try to post at least once a week on what I have  been working on lately.

My current project is a gift! I've been hesitant to post anything about it on my blog in the chance that the recipient will find out about it, but if she does then Oh, Well!
I actually started this before I made the Star Trek towels to donate for a charity auction. I had to put it aside until those towels were done, and now I'm back to it!
Some friends are having a baby, and I had recently come across a new crochet technique that was giving me some ideas for a blanket, so it was perfect timing! After confirming the color scheme for the nursery, I began!

First came the basic foundation mesh for the main body of the blanket. It took a little while to complete, but somewhere in my head I had myself convinced that the colors would go much more quickly. Unfortunately, the colors are taking much longer than expected, so I think at this point, I'll be lucky to have this completed by her due date in mid-June!

Here is my progress and a look of what it will be like.

I have actually added a few more rows with colors since this picture was taken. Hopefully by next weekend's post I'll have a lot more added!
