Popular magnets

I had a good weekend, although when I got to work yesterday, I felt really yucky, so I took a half day off and just crawled into bed to watch TV.
This morning, felt better, got to work, now not feeling so hot anymore. I think I'm sick of work. I'm going to try to tough it out today.

Anyway, this weekend I completed my next set of magnets! I actually sold one before I had completed the bunch! These, I think, are going to be really popular. I actually just sold another one while typing up this post, and I have another one spoken for by the co-worker who had originally requested it. I think I'll need to make even more!

They came out much cuter than I figured they would!

Also, from my last post, here is the picture of the large Kirbys.

Sleeping woes

Not much stitching going on. This week, I have been taking care of my husband, who has been sick. Of course, I have gotten sick, as well, although I don't think it is the same thing my husband has because the symptoms are all different. Go figure.

So, I need some advice. I have somehow developed this annoying habit of waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to sleep. It isn't so bad when I wake up an hour-ish before the alarm, but last night I actually woke up at 2:30 am! Granted, part of that could be the difficulty breathing form being sick, but this is just ridiculous. I ended up doing some stitching for about 30 minutes, then relaxing in my recliner and sleeping the rest of the night there.
I used to be such a sound sleeper. Now, about 3 times a week, I've started just waking up. My internal clock is messing with me, I guess. Tonight I'm going to be taking some Tylenol PM that will hopefully knock me out all night. But does anyone else have any ideas to stay asleep?

Back to the stitching. I did manage to finish up the 2 big Kirbys. Unfortunately, I left them at home, so I can't get a picture of them right now. I'll get the picture posted later. I do have a picture of the progress that I made on my next magnet set (at 2:30 this morning).

I know, they don't look like much, but I have one color (white, if you couldn't tell) done on all of them. Next, moving on to the light blue.

IHSW

So, I spent my IHSW weekend, not cross-stitching, but stitching plastic canvas.
That counts, right? I was still stitching, at least!

Anyway, here are my Kirby magnets.

I also wanted to make a couple big ones, of Kirby puffed up. I didn't manage to get those completed. Here is where I left off, though.

My next magnets will be a commission design from a co-worker. After that, who knows?! So many options out there!
I am still open for more suggestions/ideas, too!

More magnets!

I am definitely in the plastic canvas mood lately! I can't seem to stop making more magnets. I made one more Mario style magnet design, here:

Then I made some smaller ones! I made 3 whole sets of these tetris magnets, and they went so fast!

I am definitely still in the plastic canvas groove, so expect to see more from me! I already have some Kirby magnets planned. I would love to receive more ideas, if anyone has some!

Mushrooms... and friends!

My mushrooms have gone off and made themselves some friends! I'm having a blast making these, they are so much fun! Here are all the different ones I have made so far:

And, because I know there are some people who like to see the backs, here is what they look like on the back. I haven't glued on the magnets, yet, but...

With magnets, when whipstitching the edges, I like to whipstitch another piece of plastic to the back. I personally think it looks better, more professional, and it makes the magnet more sturdy.

To give you an idea, here's the back of one of my OKC Thunder magnets (June 2012 post) that actually has the magnet attached:

I have several more plastic canvas ideas in mind, so stay tuned for more updates!

A shortcut to...

So, this weekend, I didn't work on any cross stitch at all. I managed to tweak my back a little, so I didn't want to move too much if I could help it. So, I didn't get any work done on my Candy Cane Christmas project.
I haven't been in the cross-stitching mood lately, especially since my recent finish. To keep myself working, though, I'm moving on to small crochet and plastic canvas projects.

This weekend I did work on something new! I have been making magnets.
Here is where I was Friday night (had the white done on all 7 of them)

Here is where I am this morning (didn't get any work on them done on Saturday).

I have some other magnets cut out that I will be making once these are done! I love them, these came out so well!

(Bonus kudos to those who get the post title)
