This past Saturday, I actually got to work on Mario... on Saturday!
It was a nice rainy day outside, perfect to stay home and stitch. I even had the house to myself, so it was perfect!
Here is where I left off last week:
After working on this for a good chink of Saturday, here is where I left off:
Did you notice it says Day 9.4, now?
Sunday, I got as far as I could get with a custom order until I ran out of rings needed (I have more on the way that should be delivered today). After that, I pulled out Palace Garden for a little bit and put in a few threads worth of progress. (I'll post pictures later).
Then, yesterday evening, I got some horrible news that my cousin had a heart attack and passed away. This was a big shock to me. I always thought he was the healthiest of all the cousins. He was only 46.
This really got to me, and I didn't want to deal with confetti. One color is all that I could handle, so I pulled out Mario again, since it is so simple. I put in a little more to it. I probably have one more full day left on it.
I may just work on this during the week to finish it off, since confetti seems just too much to deal with right now.

I have no pictures
This week has been somewhat busy for me. As such, I haven't really had time to work on anything enough to get pictures of it.
I have managed to finish that necklace I posted about last post. I have even started the necktie, but only to the extent of opening a bunch of rings for it. I suppose I could show a picture of a bunch of open rings, but that isn't very interesting.
I will certainly have pictures on Monday, as Mario is getting close! I also hope to have a good chunk of the tie done by then, as well.
Until then, happy crafting!

Craft fair and Mario day 8.2
I had another craft fair this weekend, this time at a local church. There seemed to be a pretty good turnout, but I barely broke even on sales again. Luckily, I got a custom order for a couple pieces, so that makes it worth it all.
I've gotten a good head start on the order, too. Here is a section of it already done:
I also got a chunk of blue done on Mario. This blue part is taking a lot longer than I expected it to. I just need to keep at it, one chunk at a time.
Here is where I left off last week:
Here is where I am now:
I showed my progress to my husband last night. It finally struck him that this is a Mario scene inside of a silhouette of Mario. He was just a bit oblivious all the other times I showed it to him, I guess.

d20 chainmail pendant
I have seen something similar to these online, and I definitely wanted to learn how to make them.
My first attempt didn't go so well. My rings were too small, so the dice didn't fit inside. I got some bigger ones now, and it came out really well!
Since I'm using a different connector with these, I may be able to get away with the smaller rings, so I'm going to try that one more time, as the smaller size is my main size, so I have a lot of it available.
Here is what my first try looks like.
I have some lanyard-type clasps to hook onto the top to make the dice removable. I can't find where I put them, though, so I just have the lobster clasp for now (and it doesn't even fully close).
I also have made a bracelet using my hot pink special rings. The color in the picture doesn't quite give it justice.

Saturday project; Mario - Day 7.2
This past weekend, I had another craft fair, so my whole Saturday was taken up with that. Because of this, I decided to work on Mario on Sunday this weekend. I have another craft fair coming up next weekend, and I'll probably do the same thing again.
All that I have had left to do is the blue sky since last weekend, and I'm getting tired of the color.
Here is where I left off last (after my cheating time):
Here is where I am now:
I got a headache yesterday, so I didn't work on it as much as I wanted to. It looks like this will take me another 2 or 3 weeks.
